Art funding is a relatively small world because although everyone enjoys art, few people are willing to invest in it. Art is almost universally appreciated—just about every individual has an appreciation for fine art in some medium. However, supporting the arts is unfortunately pretty rare. The importance of art really cannot be overestimated. Virtually every society all over the world has formed various types of art, which speaks to its universal importance. Baryn Futa is a man who not only understands these facts, but also seeks to fund the arts generously.

Baryn Futa has a goal of expanding the public’s awareness of art, as well as the public’s appreciation of the same. Baryn Futa puts his money where his mouth is, too, which means not only serving as a patron to various artists and museums, but also serving on a number of committees and donating pieces of art from his own collection to a number of museums and exhibitions nationwide.

Baryn Futa has a special interest in the contemporary arts, but this is not an interest that has existed all his life. Instead, it is something that has been cultivated since his retirement, which was when his interest in arts first became apparent.

After retiring, Baryn Futa knew that he wanted to spend more time appreciating the arts, which would eventually grow into a want to help support the arts. He would participate with the Denver Art museum, which introduced him to the formal setting of supporting arts and led him into a wider world of fine arts appreciation. He soon saw the value in the arts and sought to lean more about it by taking classes, visiting museums, going to art fairs, etc. Today, he is the owner of a massive art collection and is a member of some of the most well respected museums in the world. He is especially interested in time based media, which means video, and has supported literally dozens of contemporary artists.
